Christmas Photo Tree

4 day count down till Christmas!!  This Christmas season has come so quickly. The next several days are filled with such fun Christmas events!! I last posted about how much I love Christmas cards another thing that I love equally as much are Christmas photos from years past. So I thought I would share an idea that I had this year.

This year, I decided to display our past Christmas photos on my tree. This is a tree I keep up all year long and change it up for each season. It originally came from some branches from my in-law's back yard that were spray painted white. It was the best free project ever!!

It is absolutely crazy as I look at these past pictures to see how much my babies have grown and changed throughout the years.

As this Christmas approaches I am trying to really focus on what is important. The memories, the actions and the events- these are all so much more important than the things...

Hope you are all enjoying this holiday season. Do you display your photos from Christmas past? What is your favorite thing during the Christmas season?

Thanks for stopping by my blog!  Wishing you a great last few days before Christmas :)

I HEART Christmas Cards!!

There are so many reasons why I LOVE the Holiday Season. The traditions, excitement, parties, programs, being with friends and family, I could go on and on!! But one of my favorite things is...
CHRISTMAS CARDS!! I love the pictures, the letters, and the stories they provide. They deserve to be displayed!!  So this year I was thinking of how to do that.

This is the wall I want to display them on & what it looks like currently. Christmas cards would look great here. The pops of color against the white would make them really stand out! And this is right at the entrance of our home, so a great place to display them!

I got an idea that I thought might just work. It would involve re-purposing our sign that is already hanging, and then just a few supplies. I have been hearing a lot about Washi or paper tape, so I thought I would try it out for this project. Also on my supply list were ribbons and close pins.

I flipped my sign over and attached strips of ribbon. First, using a tape measure, I measured about how long I would want the ribbon to hang. Then I cut the ribbon to that size and used a bit of packing tape to adhere it

Using the paper tape, I covered the close pins. It was really simple!

Then i hung up the sign and attached Christmas Cards using my improved close pins!

Before and After

So keep those Christmas Cards coming!! Do you love Christmas cards as much as I do?  How do you display your Christmas cards? Hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday Season!

Advent Activity Calender

It's so easy to get caught up in the busy Holiday Season and forget what is truly important. This year we are really focusing on the giving, helping others and enjoyment of activities, that truly make the Holiday Season important and special. One of the ways I have found to put the focus on that, is by having an Advent activity calender.

There are lots of ideas out there on making an advent calender. You can search online or on Pinterst for many different ways to make your own!  For mine, I used an idea from Family Fun Magazine. Click here for the tree templates and instructions.
Here is how ours turned out!

I wrote out activities for each day just on some scratch paper.

Then I folded the papers up and put one under each day!

Some of our advent daily activities are...
Decorate the Christmas tree
Sing Christmas Carols
Take Christmas Family picture
Random Act of Kindness- click here for some great ideas! I did this one a few times
Donate food to the food bank
Everyone tell one Christmas joke
Christmas Movie Night- I did this one a couple of times also
Read Christmas books
Bake Christmas treats
Learn about Hanukkah- click here for a great website about Hanukkah
Make a gift for your teacher
Give cookies and a thank you letter to your mailman
Write a note of appreciation to each family member
Purchase a gift for someone in need
Christmas Trivia game click here for some fun trivia
Make hot chocolate and drive around and look at Christmas lights
Learn about Kwanzaa click here for a great website about Kwanzaa
Open Christmas PJ's- we do this on Christmas Eve, so everyone has a new pair of PJ's for Christmas morning

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I would love to hear how you are celebrating the Holiday season and family traditions that make your Holiday special!!
